SQA
The NUJ has recently been approved as a Scottish Qualifications Authority Centre
of Education Accredition which is testament to its commitment to bring flexible
learning to NUJ members.
The NUJ is the first trade union to become a fully accredited learning centre by the SQA, who describe the achievement as "groundbreaking". The news has been welcomed by the TUC nationally: "It's a major achievement by the NUJ and, in particular Angela Austin and Joan Macdonald, who have really pulled out all the stops to achieve such an accolade for their union. I know of no other union that has this level of accreditation by the SQA", said Harry Cunningham TUC Education and Training Officer (Scotland).
