This unique course was developed by the
NUJ Scottish office in response to an identified need for an online interactive
tool to provide grammar and literacy skills for journalists starting out in the
industry.
Through the various development phases we
were aware that the course was capturing the imagination of more experienced
journalists. It became obvious as we continued to make progress that our
project would also bring much greater benefit to a wider field of people across
all industries.
A particularly gratifying element is the
widespread interest from schools, colleges and universities and with this
height of attraction to the education system our hope is to have a positive
impact on the teaching of written English from the cradle to the grave.
As professional users of language, journalists
need to have an understanding of how language is put together. Words are the
basic tools of the trade and assembling them in an accepted and effective way
should be the aim of any writer.
A specially produced preview lets you log in and
try out sample content from the hundreds of pages and exercises available in
the full version. Combining the instructive with the interactive, the sample
lessons let you revise what you already know and find out what you don't.
Surprise yourself - one way or the other!
